Bar/Bat Mitzvah Program:
‘The Patriarchs and Matriarchs in Ma'arat HaMachpela”
Tour Led by the Bar/Bat Mitzvah Celebrant
The Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebrant joins the Jewish People and continues the heritage of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs. Ma'arat HaMachpela, the first purchase of our ancestors in Eretz Yisrael, the place where the Patriarchs and Matriarchs lived and were buried, is the ideal place to celebrate taking on the yoke of mitzvoth. Hebron, in making the connection between worlds and between people, likewise forms the link between childhood and adulthood.

In this program, bar and bat mitzvah celebrants will lead a tour of Ma'arat HaMachpela for their families and guests. They will prepare the tour with the instruction and accompaniment of a guide. Preparation will focus on the Patriarchs or Matriarchs and their character, and on the stories and history of Ma'arat HaMachpela.
For details, call Midreshet Hebron at 02-9961311 or Mr. Simcha Hochbaum at 052-4317257.

“He recalls the Patriarchs’ loyalty and brings a redeemer to their descendants, lovingly, for the sake of His name.”
Selichot Tours of Ma'arat HaMachpela
During Elul and the Days of Awe, days in which G-d’s presence is especially near, there are day-time and night-time Selichot tours of Ma'arat HaMachpela, the site from which all the prayers of the Jewish People rise On High, and the place from which the gates of Heaven open. The tour includes an encounter with ba’alei teshuva [penitents], delves deeply into the experience of repentance and prayer, and concludes with the recitation of Selichot in Ma'arat HaMachpela. The tour can be synchronized with the central mass recitation of Selichot at the Ma’ara, or with another day or night.
For details, call Midreshet Hebron at 02-9961311 or Mr. Simcha Hochbaum at 052-4317257.
